Kiwanis International approved the creation of the Kiwanis Club of Sisters on November 28, 1977. The new club was sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Redmond, and recognized in an official charter Night Ceremony held at Sisters Elementary School on January 26, 1978.

Charter members still active include David Clemens, and Harold O'Hara.

The club started with 35 members and currently has a membership of around 70.
